Audio Podcasts and Physical Education

You are listening to a audio podcast. In our Web 2.0 summer workshop at Malone College we are learning how to use pod casts as tools to communicate, instruct, and stimulate students in learning situations. In physical education teachers can place a podcast on your school or personal website. Just some of the uses are as follows:
a. communicate to parents uniform needs, shoes needed, clothing used in P.E. classes.
b. leave messages for co-workers concerning equipment uses or scheduled events.
c. inform large groups of staff workers of changes in actitities due to emergencies.
This podcast below is a product called:

Gabcast http://gabcast.com/
this is a free podcast service that can get you started as you record using your phone.
Recording audio has never been easier.
You can post your audio on blogs or wikis.
You can create audio greetings to welcome users to your websites.

Blogging and Lifetime Learning

While participating in summer technology workshops I have come to understand how elementary physical education and computer technologies can be integrated to help students grow and develop into well informed, confident, and motivated lifetime movers. As I have found out in our Workshop Pod casting 101 as I continue on with technology integration I am growing as a professional master teacher. This is my first entry into my blog! We are blogging as part of the Web 2.0 Tools Introduction workshop at Malone College in Canton, Ohio. As we have done research on many websites, I have truly appreciated the complex but useful ways blogging can help teaching and learning skills thoughout a lifetime. Blogging can help lifelong learning in the areas of research, class preparations, writing skills, rebuttal skills, developing thoughts and concepts, sharing new and old ideas, etc.....

Here are 3 ways teachers can plan to integrate physical education and blogging technology:
1. Personal Web Sites- You can link various blog sites about current physical education topics.

2. Videotaping Student Performance- Such as Basketball or Volleyball skills and then use a personal blogging web page to share how parents can help improve student skill levels through home instruction.

3. Blogging on School Website- here students and parents can comment on specific topics such as childhood obesity, after school fitness activities, nutrition concepts, intramural concerns, etc....
